Journalist and war veteran Bakhshaliyev passes away at 48

Rashad Bakhshaliyev, a department head at the "Azerbaijan" newspaper, a veteran of the Patriotic War, and a prominent journalist, has passed away.

Axar.az reports that the 48-year-old journalist, who died of a heart attack, will be buried today.

Born in Mingachevir in 1978, Bakhshaliyev was a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University. He spent many years at the "Sherg" newspaper before moving to the official state press organ, "Azerbaijan." At the onset of the 2020 Patriotic War, he immediately joined the military, serving as an officer and earning several medals for his service.
