AZAL and Air Serbia sign codeshare agreement

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), part of AZCON Holding, has signed a codeshare agreement with Serbia’s national carrier Air Serbia.

Axar.az informs according to AZAL’s press service, starting in May 2026, flights on the Baku–Belgrade–Baku route will operate twice a week in line with Air Serbia’s schedule. Under the agreement, AZAL will place its code on Air Serbia-operated flights, giving passengers easier booking, smoother connections, and more flexible travel options. The first flight is scheduled for May 3, 2026.

This cooperation between the two national carriers is considered an important step toward expanding international air connectivity. The new partnership will provide passengers with a wider choice of destinations, greater flexibility, and more convenient travel options, while also contributing to the development of ties between Azerbaijan and Serbia. It is also expected to strengthen tourism, business, and cultural relations.

AZAL’s Chief Commercial Officer Jamil Manizade said the cooperation will allow passengers to benefit from coordinated services and easily travel between Baku and Belgrade using AZAL’s sales channels. He added that the airline continues to expand its network and partnerships, reinforcing its role as a key transit hub between East and West.

Air Serbia’s Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer Bosko Rupic said the codeshare partnership will enhance air connectivity between Serbia and Azerbaijan, offering passengers more travel options and convenient connections. By combining their networks and expertise, the airlines aim to create new opportunities for both tourism and business travel while strengthening bilateral ties.

Tickets will soon be available via AZAL’s official website and mobile app, as well as through its ticket offices and accredited agencies.
