Mud volcano erupts on Absheron peninsula

An eruption has been recorded at the “Bozdag–Guzdek” mud volcano located on the Absheron Peninsula.

Axar.az informs, citing the Republican Seismological Service Center, that the eruption began at 22:26 local time on April 9 and lasted for 6 minutes.

The eruption was characterized by a single phase. According to data from mud volcano monitoring stations, the source depth of the Bozdag–Guzdek mud volcano eruption was determined to be 3.0 kilometers, the duration was 6 minutes, and the released energy was calculated at 6.32×10⁶ joules.
