The Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova considers the current President Maya Sandu, who won the second round of the presidential elections, to be an illegitimate president.

Axar.az reports that the leader of the socialists, former president Igor Dodon, announced this on his Telegram channel.

"Maya Sandu is an illegitimate president, recognized only by foreign sponsors and curators. The people of Moldova feel cheated and robbed," the document said.

It was emphasized that elections, especially voting in the Transnistrian region and foreign polling stations, cannot be called a free and democratic expression of the will of the people:

"In a number of countries, we have been faced with unjustified reduction of polling stations, obstruction of voters' access to polling stations, agitation on the day of silence and voting day, and other violations of the law. As a result, hundreds of thousands of citizens of the country could not exercise their right to vote, which explains the final difference in the number of votes.

Socialists announced that they consider Sandu's opponent, the former chief prosecutor Alexander Stoyanoglu, whom they support, to be the real winner of the presidential campaign:

"Even under these conditions, Sandu was defeated in the country. The candidate of the Moldovan people, Aleksandr Stoyanoglu, won a real victory in the presidential elections held in Moldova. 51.19% of Moldovan residents - people who work here (in Moldova - ed.) or receive pensions here, pay taxes and utilities here, raise children here, live with the country's problems - voted for him. "The majority of Moldovans voted against the policy of the current government."

It should be noted that according to the results of the presidential elections held yesterday, Maya Sandu won with 55.33% of votes.

Despite this, the former chief prosecutor, ethnic Gagauz Aleksandr Stoyanoglu received 51.19% of votes in the voting of voters in Moldova. Maya Sandu managed to win only with votes from outside the country, the votes of the diaspora.
