Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to make a statement regarding the crash of the AZAL aircraft.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

It should be noted that the passenger aircraft operating the Baku-Grozny flight belonging to AZAL was shot down by the Russian anti-aircraft missile system in Grozny on December 25, 2024. Since permission for landing in Russian territory was denied, the plane headed toward Kazakhstan and crashed near Aktau airport. Out of the 67 people on board, 38 died, and 29 survived.

The initial report on the crash confirmed that the aircraft had been involved in a crash due to physical and technical external interference.
