Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
Axar.az reports that during the meeting, issues of implementing major strategic projects were discussed, including laying a fiber-optic communication line and a deep-sea electric cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
Welcoming the guest, Tokayev emphasized the importance of the meeting for further strengthening the multifaceted interstate relations.
"Your visit is of great importance in terms of further promoting our cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan. Relations with Azerbaijan are very important for us. We consider Azerbaijan a reliable strategic partner and ally," Tokayev emphasized.
In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm welcome and emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral relations.
Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the Kazakh side for their swift support in response to the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft in Aktau.
The prospects for further cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, digitalization, transit, and transport were also examined.
