The memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide was commemorated in Fairfax, Virginia, USA.
Axar.az reports that the event, organized by the Azerbaijan House in Virginia, USA, at the Cinema Arts Theatre, was attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States Khazar Ibrahim, employees of the Embassies of Turkiye and Azerbaijan in the United States, a representative of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, local public, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas.
A photo exhibition reflecting the horrors of the Khojaly genocide was shown at the commemoration event. At the same time, the documentary film "Son" about the National Hero Natig Gasimov, and the feature-length documentary film "Born on January 20" about the January 20 events and our sailors who showed courage during these events were shown.
The event discussed the work done by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to convey the truth about Khojaly to the world, spread it internationally, expose the perpetrators of the genocide, and provide an objective assessment of this genocide. It was noted that the countries of the world should give a fair legal and political assessment to this massacre at the international level and the organizers of this crime should be punished.
It should be noted that within the framework of the 5-day Khojaly week, informative flyers reflecting the facts of the genocide were distributed to the participants of the event.
