On May 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the XXX Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry - “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the XVIII Azerbaijan International Agriculture - “Caspian Agro” exhibitions at the Baku Expo Center.
Axar.az reports that the “InterFood Azerbaijan” and “Caspian Agro” exhibitions, which have already become national brands, are the largest exhibitions in the Caspian region in the fields of agriculture and food industry. 450 companies from 31 countries are participating in the “InterFood Azerbaijan” and “Caspian Agro” exhibitions, which cover all the pavilions of the Baku Expo Center, as well as the open area, and will end on May 16. Taking into account the wishes of participants and visitors, this year the exhibitions will last 4 days.
The geography of the exhibitions is quite extensive, covering many parts of the world. Leading agricultural producers from the USA, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkiye, and other countries demonstrate their products here. It should be noted that Germany, Belarus, South Korea, Georgia, Italy, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and, for the first time, Egypt are represented at the exhibitions as national groups.
The Head of State got acquainted with the Italian stand. A total of 7 companies are represented in the “National Group of the Italian Republic”. They present various agricultural products. Italy is one of the countries that shows great interest in these exhibitions. Therefore, this country has been participating in exhibitions for more than 10 years.
This year, the “InterFood Azerbaijan” exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary. Over the past years, the exhibition, which has hosted more than 3 thousand companies and more than 150 thousand visitors from about 50 countries, has gained the status of an effective business platform. The new technologies and innovative solutions presented here create favorable opportunities for the development of the food industry and the expansion of business relations. At the same time, the exhibition covers the main aspects of food safety and contributes to its strengthening.
Germany also regularly participates in the exhibition. The "German National Group" is represented by 8 companies presenting agricultural products. These companies are well-known not only in Germany, but also in the world in the field of agricultural production. It should be noted that Germany has been participating in the exhibitions for 5 years.
The exhibitions are held with the organizational support of the Ministry of Agriculture. At the same time, the exhibitions are actively supported by the Food Safety Agency, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' Organizations, the Food and Beverage Manufacturers' Association, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and the Azerbaijan Association of Exhibition Organizers.
3 companies are represented at the South Korean stand. They are well-known companies in the field of agricultural products. These companies specialize in fruit peeling and processing equipment, and fruit and horticultural materials. At the same time, one of the companies offers its services in the field of intelligent livestock monitoring and management with a system based on artificial intelligence. South Korea has been participating in the exhibition for the second year.
The Ministry of Agriculture is participating in the exhibitions with a stand this year as well. The main theme of the ministry's participation in 2025 is the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Thus, by the instructions of our head of state, the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture has been identified as a priority. Within the framework of the exhibitions, the Ministry will present several projects related to the application of artificial intelligence to the participants. One of the main issues on the agenda at present is the creation of synergy between students studying artificial intelligence at Azerbaijani universities and large agroparks on the market.
President Ilham Aliyev also got acquainted with the Georgian stand. There are 8 companies in the “Georgian National Group”. They mainly present food products. Georgia also shows great interest in these exhibitions. So far, this country has been represented at exhibitions 10 times.
“Caspian Agro” covers areas such as agricultural machinery, facilities and equipment, irrigation systems, packaging, innovative technologies in agriculture, livestock and poultry farming, veterinary medicine, plant growing, fruit and vegetable growing, floriculture, waste processing, logistics, and electronic agriculture. It brings together thousands of professionals, including leading participants in the agricultural industry, local and foreign experts, including importers, exporters, product distributors, wholesale and retail representatives, as well as farmers.
The exposition also includes sections on artificial intelligence, smart villages, startups, IT services, robotics, drones, and “green agro” in the “Smart Agro” direction.
Exhibitions serve as a convenient platform for promoting the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand. As last year, this year, participants demonstrate their products under this brand as part of the “Caspian Agro” and “InterFood Azerbaijan” exhibitions.
For many years, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency has been actively supporting exhibitions, organizing stands for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to participate in events. Companies get acquainted with market innovations, establish contacts with leading industry leaders, and develop.
Belarus is also one of the countries that shows great interest in exhibitions. 15 companies producing food products are represented at the national stand. They are companies specializing in cheese, meat packaging and processing, and the dairy industry. In addition, Belarusian agricultural equipment is also widely represented at the exhibition. It should be noted that this country has been participating in exhibitions for more than 10 years.
President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the equipment and pavilions displayed in the open part of the exhibitions. Supporting the development of Azerbaijan's agricultural and food industry, it increases the country's export potential, allows attracting foreign investments, and at the same time plays the role of a convenient platform for food safety and the implementation of innovative solutions. Given the scale of the exhibitions and the rich program of events held within the framework of the exhibition, "Caspian Agro" and "InterFood Azerbaijan" will be held under the new "AgriWeek" brand starting in 2026.
