Trump accepts Putin’s proposal to extend START limits

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has accepted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to maintain the restrictions under the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) for another year.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Daryl Kimball, head of the U.S. Arms Control Association.

Kimball noted that keeping the restrictions in place even after the treaty’s expiration would help prevent a new arms race and lay the groundwork for long-term agreements.
