Hungary will fight the European Commission's plan to cut off energy supplies to Russia to the end and intends to use all available political and legal means to achieve this.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó, who attended a meeting of the Council of the European Union in Luxembourg.
He noted that the European Commission's initiative still needs to be approved as EU law by the European Parliament.
"We will protect Hungary's energy security and our low utility prices. We will not allow Brussels to force a sharp increase in prices for Hungarian citizens. We will not allow Hungarians to pay much more for utilities than they currently pay for Ukraine. Therefore, we will use all political and legal means to prevent the adoption of such a law."
