The statement of the leader of Southern Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, regarding the withdrawal of Turkish troops from the island is unacceptable.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tufan Erhürman.

"It is not the right step for Mr. Christodoulides, who has signed many military agreements with states that do not have the title of "ground" without the will of the Turkish people of Cyprus, one of the two equal founding partners with sovereign rights on the island, to try to put forward such a precondition on this issue.

The statement of Mr. Christodoulides that I quoted above has no meaning for me! - Erhürman said.

Let us note that earlier, Nikos Christodoulides claimed in his speech that the Cyprus problem cannot be resolved unless the Turkish army is withdrawn from the island and security commitments are accepted.
