Peskov: Witkoff's criticism meant to disrupt peace talks

Calls for the removal of Steve Witkoff from his post after the publication of transcripts of his talks with Yuri Ushakov are designed to disrupt efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“First of all, I must say that there is nothing particularly scary in it. President Trump himself, by the way, indirectly defended Witkoff - this is the work of an ordinary negotiator.

Likely, those who have now appeared and are demanding Witkoff’s resignation are primarily designed to disrupt the modest tendencies that currently exist for a settlement through peace negotiations. Undoubtedly, there will be many people who will stop at nothing to disrupt this process,” Peskov emphasized.

It should be noted that the Bloomberg agency published two transcripts of telephone conversations between Ushakov, Dmitriyev, and Witkoff.
