Pakistan embassy to open in Armenia

Diplomatic representatives of Armenia and Pakistan are actively working on opening a Pakistan embassy in Armenia.

Axar.az informs, citing Armenian media, the opening of this embassy is planned for next year.

“By signing a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan, the governments of Armenia and Pakistan have agreed to exchange representatives and provide each other with necessary support for the purpose of bringing diplomatic relations to life on the basis of reciprocity in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and customary international practice. In this context, the public will be duly informed about further developments,” the Armenian MFA stated.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan were established on August 31. On that day, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Tianjin, China, during which they signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan.
