Peskov comments on Bloomberg report of potential sanctions

Moscow has not yet seen reports about the possibility of new anti-Russian sanctions from the United States, but the Kremlin is aware that such plans exist in Washington, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists.

Axar.az reporrts, citing TASS, “We have not seen these reports so far, but it is well known that such plans exist in several offices in Washington,” he said, commenting on a Bloomberg report that the U.S. is considering new sanctions against Russia if President Vladimir Putin refuses to sign a peace agreement on the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the United States is preparing new sanctions targeting the Russian energy sector if the ongoing negotiations for a peace deal on Ukraine fail. According to the report, the new restrictions could be announced as early as this week.
