Ukraine ready for referendum on US peace plan

Ukraine is ready to hold a referendum on the US peace plan. However, this would only take place if Russia agrees to a 60-day ceasefire.

Axar.az reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with Axios.

The Ukrainian leader noted that holding a referendum involves serious political, logistical, and security challenges. Therefore, Zelensky said that a 60-day ceasefire is a minimum requirement to prepare for and conduct the vote.

The president also added that it is still unclear to him whether Russia is ready to agree to Trump’s plan.
