US violated law, exposed Monroe Doctrine in Venezuela

Washington acted by the “law of power,” violating the “power of law” and exposing the Monroe Doctrine.

Axar.az reports that these remarks were made by Leonid Slutski, leader of the RLDP and head of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, while commenting on the US strikes in Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

It should be noted that the Monroe Doctrine, announced in 1823 by US President James Monroe, aimed to protect the Western Hemisphere from European colonization. It established a principle of US foreign policy that the US would not interfere in European affairs, and Europe should not intervene in the internal affairs of the American continents.
