Zelensky appoints Chrystia Freeland as economic adviser

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Canada’s former foreign minister and former deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland as his adviser on economic development.

Axar.az informs "Today, I appointed Chrystia Freeland as adviser on economic development. Chrystia has strong professional expertise in these matters and significant experience in attracting investment and carrying out economic transformations," he wrote on his Telegram.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience—both for the country’s recovery if diplomacy works as quickly as possible, and to reinforce our defense if, due to partners’ delays, we have to work longer to end the war.

Freeland is also the Canadian government’s special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
