SDF must abandon separatism, says Fidan

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were warned months ago.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

He said the time given to the SDF has already expired and that the Syrian government is fighting to ensure the country’s territorial integrity.

The minister noted that the SDF is trying to hold on to the areas under its control at any cost:

“This group is the biggest obstacle to Syria achieving peace and stability. Such an uncompromising stance contradicts the realities of Syria and the region. It is time for the SDF to abandon terrorism and separatism.”

Hakan Fidan added that if necessary, Turkiye would not refrain from direct intervention, and that there are no difficulties in establishing dialogue with the parties.
