Iran shuts down internet amid ongoing protests

Protests that broke out across several Iranian cities on Thursday over worsening economic conditions have left dozens dead and prompted authorities to shut down the internet nationwide.

Axar.az informs NetBlocks, an internet monitoring group, said on X that the internet had been completely cut off across the country by early evening Thursday.

Iran “is now in the midst of a nationwide internet blackout,” the group said.
