Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States and Israel of direct involvement in what he described as “terrorist activities” during recent unrest in Iran.
Axar.az, citing Middle East news, reports that Araghchi, speaking to heads of diplomatic missions in Tehran, stated that the initial protests were peaceful and that the government had responded quickly by engaging in dialogue and introducing measures in response to the demonstrators’ demands.
According to Araghchi, armed groups later infiltrated the protests to divert them from their original path. He claimed there is evidence of gunfire directed at Iranian security forces to increase casualties, alleging this was intended to escalate violence.
He also said Iran possesses audio recordings allegedly instructing attackers to shoot indiscriminately, including at nearby civilians, and claimed that wounded individuals were deliberately targeted.
Araghchi further stated that Iran holds extensive documents proving US and Israeli involvement, asserting that former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had acknowledged Mossad agents operating alongside protesters. He criticized Western countries for condemning Iranian police instead of what he called terrorist groups, while remaining silent on civilian deaths in Gaza and the killing of Iranian citizens.
Responding to new threats by US President Donald Trump, Araghchi warned that Iran is prepared for war and vowed retaliation against anyone he said is responsible for the deaths of Iranians.
