A 15-member contingent of the German armed forces has unexpectedly left Greenland.
Axar.az reports, citing Bild. According to the publication, German officers and soldiers departed the city of Nuuk on an Icelandair aircraft.
“The order to return came from Germany this morning. All previously planned meetings and events were urgently canceled,” the outlet said.
The reason for the German troops’ sudden departure from Greenland has not been disclosed.
It should be noted that the German military personnel had arrived on the island only a few days earlier at Denmark’s invitation as part of a NATO mission.
