The identities of 3,919 people killed during nationwide protests in Iran, which began 22 days ago, have been confirmed, while efforts are underway to verify the identities of 8,944 others.
Axar.az reports the information was released by the Iranian Human Rights Organization.
Among those killed, 178 were government officials, 25 were minors, and 31 were civilians not participating in the protests.
In addition, 24,669 people have been arrested and transferred to various prisons.
The organization noted that due to internet restrictions, there are delays in confirming the numbers and identities of those killed and detained.
