Over 100 officers injured in Turin clashes

More than 100 law enforcement officers were injured in clashes with protesters in Turin yesterday.

Axar.az informs that ANSA reported this with reference to official authorities.

According to the information, 97 police officers, 5 carabinieri, and 7 officers of the Guardia di Finanza (armed units of the Ministry of Finance) were injured. The Italian leadership, as well as representatives of the opposition, expressed their solidarity with the law enforcement agencies. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited the two police officers in the hospital. She called the incident unacceptable and an attack on the state.

It should be noted that the protests, attended by 15 thousand people, against the closure of a social center by the authorities, turned into clashes.
