Iran publishes names of nearly 3,000 protest deaths

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian has ordered the publication of the names of nearly three thousand people who died during the recent unrest.

Axar.az reports that information about this was shared on the website of the Iranian Presidential Administration.

"By order of the president... a list of 2,986 people who died during the recent protests and unrest is being published," the statement said.

There is a difference of 131 people between the number of deaths according to official statistics (3,117 people) and the number of names published. The statement emphasized that this difference is due to the fact that the identities of these people have not yet been determined.
