Kyiv says halted Russian plan to kill top officials

As part of the work of a joint investigative team of Ukrainian and Moldovan law enforcement agencies, an organized group that was preparing contract killings of well-known Ukrainian citizens and foreign nationals has been exposed.

Axar.az informs this information was shared by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on Telegram.

The investigation established that members of the network operated under the supervision of the Russian Federation’s special services.

The intended victims were prominent figures in Ukraine, including Andriy Yusov, a representative for strategic communications of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Seven people were detained in Ukraine. At the same time, urgent investigative actions were conducted in Moldova, where three more individuals were detained, including the organizer of the network and two accomplices.
