German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, March 3.
Axar.az, citing Die WELT, reports that the meeting will begin in the Oval Office, followed by a working lunch.
Key topics include bilateral relations, security issues, trade and competition disputes, the U.S.–EU tariff conflict, the Russian war in Ukraine, and China policy.
This will be Merz’s second visit to the Oval Office since his June 2025 inauguration. His first meeting with Trump was cordial, but this session is expected to be more challenging due to ongoing trade tensions and geopolitical issues.
Merz will also brief Trump on his recent China visit, while Trump is scheduled to visit Beijing in early April.
