Trump raises prospect of 'friendly takeover' of Cuba

The U.S. President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of a “friendly takeover” of Cuba on Friday.

Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that speaking to the reporters at the White House, US President Trump, stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio was handling the matter at a “very high level.”

"The Cuban government is talking with us, and they're in a big deal of trouble," Trump said as he left the White House for a trip to Texas.

"They have no money. They have no anything right now, but they're talking with us, and maybe we'll have a friendly takeover of Cuba."

Trump characterized Cuba as a failing nation in urgent need of change, noting that he had been aware of the country’s difficulties since his youth.
