Trump says he's 'not happy' with Iran talks

President Donald Trump said Friday that he is “not happy” with the progress of nuclear negotiations with Iran but will wait to see how upcoming rounds unfold.

Axar.az, citing PBS, reports that speaking to reporters as he departed the White House, Trump expressed frustration with Tehran’s stance:

"I'm not happy with the fact that they're not willing to give us what we have to have. I'm not thrilled with that. We'll see what happens. We're talking later," Trump told reporters as he left the White House on Friday.

"We're not exactly happy with the way they're negotiating. They cannot have nuclear weapons," Trump said.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran remain elevated after the latest round of nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday ended without a breakthrough, even as U.S. forces continue to build up in the region.

Trump has warned that military action remains an option if Iran refuses to accept a comprehensive agreement limiting its nuclear program.

Iran maintains that it has the right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes and continues to deny any ambition to develop nuclear weapons.
