123 people evacuated from Iran via Astara crossing

In the past 24 hours, a total of 123 people have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan via the Astara border crossing.

Axar.az reports that 54 of them are Azerbaijani citizens, while the remaining 69 are nationals from 17 other countries.

The Azerbaijani authorities provided all necessary arrangements to facilitate the transit.

The evacuees include 18 from Saudi Arabia, 18 from China, 6 from the UAE, 5 from Tajikistan, 4 from Jordan, 3 from Qatar, 3 from Bangladesh, 2 from the Philippines, 2 from Nepal, and one each from Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, France, and Brazil.

It should be noted that on February 28, Israel and the U.S. launched military operations against Iran, striking cities across the country. In retaliation, Iran fired missiles at Israel and attacked 14 U.S. military bases in countries along the Persian Gulf. As a result of the escalating situation in the Middle East, several regional countries temporarily closed their airspace.
