Amazon confirms two UAE data centers hit by drone

Three Amazon data centers were damaged by Iranian drone strikes in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports, citing Data Centre Dynamics, that on sunday, the company announced outages at its ME-CENTRAL-1 cloud region due to "objects" striking a facility.

The company has now confirmed that two data centers in the UAE were directly struck by drones, and a third site in Bahrain was impacted by a "drone strike in close proximity" that damaged the facility.

Amazon Web Services said: "These strikes have caused structural damage, disrupted power delivery to our infrastructure, and in some cases required fire suppression activities that resulted in additional water damage.

"We are working closely with local authorities and prioritizing the safety of our personnel throughout our recovery efforts," the service stated.
