Volker Turk: US must probe Iran school strike ‘very quickly’

The United Nations rights chief Volker Turk stressed the need for “impartial investigations” into a strike on a school in Iran, urging the US to move “very quickly” with its announced probe.

Axar.az informs, citing AFP, “What we are calling for are prompt, transparent, and impartial investigations, which we understand the United States has announced,” he told reporters in Geneva.

“We need this to happen urgently, and it is also essential to ensure accountability and provide redress for the victims,” he added.

Iran has blamed Israel and the United States for the attack on the school in Minab on the first day of the war last Saturday, reporting more than 150 deaths.
