Senior IRGC oil official killed in Israeli strike

The head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Oil Headquarters Trade Department, Mohammadreza Ashrafiqahi, was killed in Tehran.

Axar.az reports, citing IDF Telegram channel, the operation was carried out by the Israeli Air Force under the guidance of Israeli military intelligence (AMAN).

"Ashrafiqahi was a senior commander responsible for managing the Oil Headquarters’ commercial activities, which generate billions of dollars annually to support the IRGC’s military capabilities and its proxy groups across the Middle East, including the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.

The IRGC Oil Headquarters provides financial backing for ballistic missile and drone programs, which have been used to target Israel and Gulf countries, including critical regional oil infrastructure," IDF statement says.

"This strike follows a previous operation that targeted Jamshid Eshaqi, commander of the Armed Forces Oil Headquarters, delivering another significant blow to Iran’s military-linked economic networks," the statement added.
