Turkiye delivers 48 tons of aid to Iran

Turkiye has sent four trucks carrying 48 tons of humanitarian aid to Iran.

Axar.az reports that the sending ceremony took place at the “Ankara Kizilay” logistics center with the participation of Fatma Meric Yilmaz, President of the Turkish Red Crescent.

She said the shipment was prepared in a short time in response to a request from the Iranian side.

“From the first day of escalation, we have been in contact with the Red Crescent societies of Iran and Lebanon to provide assistance to the civilian population in the region and meet humanitarian needs,” she said.

The head of the Turkish Red Crescent also noted that since the beginning of March, 3.6% of Iran’s population of 90 million has been forced to leave their homes.

“62,000 houses and more than 20,000 commercial facilities have been destroyed. There are deaths and injuries among the civilian population. The 48-ton humanitarian aid sent to Iran is only the beginning.”
