Australia appoints first female army chief in historic move

Australia on Monday said a woman would lead its army for the first time in history, as part of a reshuffle of the country's defence force leadership.

Axar.az informs that Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made the announcement.

“From July, the country’s army will be led by Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, who is currently serving as Chief of Joint Operations. She will replace Lieutenant General Simon Stuart in this role,” he said.
