EU adds nearly 1,600 sanctions listings targeting Russia

EU Foreign Ministers just adopted nearly 1,600 new sanctions listings targeting Russia’s military-industrial complex, marking the largest expansion of the bloc’s sanctions list since Russia launched its war.

Axar.az reports that in a post on X, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas said more than half of the new listings were linked to the production chain for ballistic missiles.

“We are making it significantly harder, slower and more expensive for Russia to produce the weapons it uses to kill Ukrainians,” she said, adding that Europe was once again demonstrating a united front.
