Kallas accuses Russia of targeting civilians in Ukraine

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has accused Russia of deliberately targeting Ukrainian cities and escalating pressure on civilians amid the ongoing war.

Axar.az reports that Kallas made the remarks on her X account, stating that Russia has “hit a dead-end on the battlefield” and is responding with strikes on urban centres.

"Russia hit a dead-end on the battlefield, so it terrorizes Ukraine with deliberate strikes on city centres. These are abhorrent acts of terror meant to kill as many civilians as possible," Kallas said.

Kallas also warned that Moscow’s reported use of “Oreshnik” intermediate-range ballistic missiles.

"Moscow reportedly using Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles – systems designed to carry nuclear warheads – is a political scare-tactic and reckless nuclear-brinkmanship," she noted.

She added that EU Foreign Ministers will discuss next week how to dial up the international pressure on Russia.
