Pashinyan pledges to initiate new Armenian constitution

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the ruling Civil Contract party’s election platform includes a provision on adopting a new constitution following the elections and the formation of a parliamentary majority.

Axar.az reports that Pashinyan made the remarks in an interview with Armenia TV.

“You know, we have never discussed the issue of the constitution with Azerbaijan or with any partner, because this is exclusively our internal agenda. And we proceed from this agenda,” he said.

According to Pashinyan, the process will be carried out through a referendum.
