A U.S. airborne early warning and control aircraft has been spotted over the Persian Gulf, where it is flying in a circular pattern.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the information was provided by a source in the Middle East's air traffic control services.

"A Boeing E-3B Sentry aircraft, capable of detecting targets at distances of up to 400 kilometers, took off from one of the military bases in the region and is currently operating over the Persian Gulf, flying in a circular pattern," the source said.

The source added that the aircraft is flying at an altitude of approximately 10 kilometers.
