Fidan: Hormuz Strait transit affects multiple parties

The issue of transit through the Strait of Hormuz affects the interests of several parties.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan noted that Iran is located on one side of the strait and Oman on the other.

"Iran has rights in international waters, including within its 12-nautical-mile territorial waters. Oman has the same rights. Between these two zones lies an additional area of approximately 20 nautical miles. The issue of how these zones are used must be resolved," he said.

It should be noted that overnight on July 8, the United States resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, citing Tehran's alleged violation of the terms of agreements related to the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran launched attacks on U.S. military facilities in the region.
