Putin says no point in meeting Zelensky for now

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he currently sees no point in holding a personal meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, Putin made the statement during remarks at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Asked to respond to a recent letter attributed to Zelensky, Putin instead addressed Russian forces on the front line.

“The whole country is proud of you and is counting on you. Keep up the good work, brothers!”

When pressed on whether his remarks meant he would not meet Zelensky, Putin replied: “So far, I see no point in this.”

The comments come amid continued hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, with no confirmed timeline for high-level direct переговорs between the two sides.
