Zelensky: Russia now imports fuel

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine has significantly disrupted Russia's fuel supplies, forcing the country, once a major energy exporter, to import fuel, including from Belarus.

Axar.az reports Zelensky made the remarks while speaking to journalists in response to a question about whether Ukraine could prevent fuel supplies to Russia from neutral countries such as India, China, and Kazakhstan through diplomatic or other means.

"Honestly, your question sounds like a historical anecdote. Really. A country like Russia, whose economy has always been built around exporting its energy resources, is now trying to find fuel somewhere, somehow increasing its ability to purchase and import it. Ukraine has already prevented that. We've already done it," he said.

Zelensky added that Belarus is now among the countries helping Russia with fuel supplies.

"I think if Yeltsin had known that, more than 20 years later, Russia would be importing energy resources instead of exporting them because it foolishly chose to start a war, he would have chosen a different successor," he said.
