US President Donald Trump has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his party’s victory in the parliamentary elections.

Axar.az reports that Trump wrote about this on his Truth Social account.

“Congratulations to Nikol Pashinyan for his decisive victory in Armenia’s National Elections," Trump wrote.

He added that the election results open opportunities for Armenia’s further development and strengthening.

"I was very proud to have Endorsed him for Re-Election, and have no doubt that, with him as the Leader of the beautiful Country of Armenia, it will attain levels of Greatness and Success beyond everyone’s wildest expectations,” Trump added.

It is noted that in the parliamentary elections held on June 7, Pashinyan’s Civil Contract Party received 49.82% of the vote, winning 64 seats in the 105-member parliament.

It is also noted that Armenia’s “strategic partner” Russia has not yet congratulated Pashinyan, and the Kremlin has instead claimed that election fraud took place.
