Russia restricts imports of quarantine goods from Armenia

Russia has imposed restrictions on the import of all quarantine-regulated products from Armenia starting June 12.

Axar.az reports that Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) made the announcement.

“Rosselkhoznadzor, from June 12, 2026, restricts the import of all quarantine products originating and shipped from Armenia, as well as transit through Russia to EAEU member states. The ban will be in effect until a specific algorithm is developed to ensure the safety and traceability of shipped goods,” the agency said in a statement.

Rosselkhoznadzor noted that the decision was made due to the systematic detection of quarantine objects. Starting in May of this year, the service gradually restricted the import of certain types of Armenian quarantine products and repeatedly sent the Armenian side information about violations in shipments.
