Lavrov urges restraint in Middle East conflict

Moscow is calling on the parties to the Middle East conflict to refrain from actions that could restart a full-scale war in the region and disrupt ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a statement following talks with his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

“Russia consistently calls on the parties involved to refrain from steps fraught with the resumption of a large-scale war and the disruption of efforts to overcome differences, firmly supports Bahrain and other Arab countries in defending their sovereignty and territorial integrity, considers attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities located there categorically unacceptable,” he said.
