U.S. President Donald Trump said he has cancelled planned strikes against Iran following what he described as high-level diplomatic progress involving multiple regional actors.
Axar.az reports, in a statement posted on his Truth Social media account, Trump said discussions with Iranian leadership had reached advanced stages and received broad approval from involved parties.
“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump said.
He added that the diplomatic framework had been supported by a wide group of regional and international actors.
“Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkiye, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others,” the statement read.
Trump also said maritime pressure measures would remain in place pending a final agreement.
“The Naval Blockade will remain in full force and effect until this Transaction is finalized — Time and place of the signing to be announced shortly,” he added.
