Robert Kocharyan blocked from leaving Armenia

Security officials at Zvartnots Airport have prevented Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan from leaving the country.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Kocharyan was not allowed to exit Armenia.

It is noted that the office of the former president had previously announced that Kocharyan had left the country on a three-day trip, describing it as a private visit that had been planned for a long time and postponed due to a busy pre-election schedule.

Earlier, after the elections on June 9, Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan also attempted to leave Yerevan but was reportedly turned back at Zvartnots Airport.
