Six dead in Iran-Iraq border clash

An armed clash took place between the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces and armed individuals in the Iraq border area of Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province.

Axar.az reports that the IRGC's Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Headquarters Ground Forces released a statement confirming the incident.

According to the statement, six members of armed Kurdish groups attempting to infiltrate the country were killed, four were arrested, and a large cache of weapons and ammunition was seized.

Although the killed and detained individuals were described as terrorists and separatists, no information was provided about which armed group they belonged to.
