Ukraine hit nine Russian shadow fleet tankers

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces said they struck more than nine tankers belonging to Russia's "shadow fleet" overnight on July 8 and also caused a partial blackout in Crimea.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian, that the announcement was made by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi.

"The Birds of Madyar units struck more than nine tankers of Russia's shadow fleet overnight on July 8 in the Sea of Azov," Brovdi said.

He added that over the past 72 hours, Ukrainian drone operators had hit a total of 21 vessels, including 19 tankers from Russia's "shadow fleet," one cargo ship and one ferry in Kerch.

In addition, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck 53 military targets deep behind enemy lines in Crimea and in Russian-occupied areas of southern Ukraine overnight.

In addition, as part of Operation "Crimean Switch Off," six more electrical substations were struck overnight.

It should be recalled that Ukraine said it struck another eight Russian tankers the previous day.
