Turkiye is seeking solutions with the United States on issues involving the Russian-made S-400 air defense system, including matters concerning third countries, Defense Minister Yasar Guler has said.

Axar.az informs according to Turkish media, Guler made the remarks in written responses to parliamentary questions regarding Turkiye's removal from the F-35 fighter jet program following its purchase of the Russian-made S-400 missile defense system, as well as renewed contacts with the United States.

The issue of a possible sale of the S-400 system to a third country as a way to remove obstacles to Turkiye's acquisition of F-35 jets has also been raised in parliament.

"Within the framework of the process that continues with positive momentum in military and political relations with the United States, solutions are being sought through mutual understanding and cooperation on issues inherited from the past that also concern third countries," Guler said.

He added that Turkiye's national defense planning continues to be carried out with careful consideration of current and future security threats.
