Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of Timur Tkachenko to a new position after his dismissal as head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ukrainian media, that according to the Ukrainian government's permanent representative to the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet approved Tkachenko's candidacy as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

The position was previously held by Mykola Kalashnyk.

It should be noted that Tkachenko, who was born in Kyiv on August 18, 1989, had served as head of the Kyiv City Military Administration since December 31, 2024.

His late father, Firudin Mammadov, who was originally from Azerbaijan's Shamkir district and died in 2023, was an active member of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Ukraine.
